Audience Engagement Fellow
My favorite project has been creating a mindfulness guide for audiences to use at home or as a tool in the Newfields galleries. I used the intersection of art and nature to provide audiences with a sense of ease after completing the activity. See how it works for you! Check back soon for the link.
I was able to contribute to the new Van Gogh LUME exhibition by creating at-home educational resources for teachers and families. LUME is opening July 2021 and the link to those resources will be posted here at that time. Check back soon!
Thornton Dial's artwork Don't Matter How Raggly the Flag, It Still Got to Tie Us Together inspired a visitor response station asking visitors the questions, "How does this artwork make you feel?" I created a system for coding these comments, and using that report, provided recommendations for future visitor response stations in the museum.
Humanities Interpretation Fellow
Yasas! or Hello! My time at The Children's Museum taught me more than I ever imagined about Greek culture. I learned so much that I created and wrote an entire program about the island of Crete. Using many senses and objects, families take an imaginary boat ride around the island while learning about Cretan culture. I'm very proud of how this program has been able to positively impact families visits to the museum!
During my time at TCM, they were in the process of creating a traveling Barbie exhibit for Mattel. I had the pleasure of assisting with research for the programs that will accompany the exhibit throughout its travels, as well as writing scripts for several of the programs. It doesn't take long working at a children's museum to feel like a kid again!
Collaborative Exhibition Project Intern
This project will always have a special place in my heart...it took place in my home town and was my first experience with exhibit development! As the one and only intern on this team, I was able to co-create the content for this exhibit, write many of the labels, and help with the construction of the space.
The project was a collaboration with multiple community partners, all of whom joined our project at my recommendation. I am proud to have put together a great resource on health and well-being for our Tri-State area and hope it was able to impact the community in a positive way. This project motivated me to continue my career working with wellness initiatives and using my museum skills to create positive change in my communities.
